Lost Wooden Paddle
Probably shouldn't have been sailing on Sunday, given the gusty S/SE winds, and "confused weekend waters". Anyway, my sailboat capsized, and my old paddle floated away. A responding Jet-Ski saved the rest of my sailing gear, and waited until I was going again.
(Thank you very much—Sir and Madam). I searched for it along the SE Tuftonboro shoreline on a calm Monday, until the wind picked up—to rough again. Because of the continuous wind direction, I suspect it's floating in the same general location—Libby's Museum (and ramp) and perhaps northward to The Basin. Normally, I wouldn't ask, but a lot of time went into customizing the paddle into a handy 30-inch "whisker-pole". There'll be two deep curved notches cut into each end. Please keep an eye out for it. |
