Plane crash in Gilford
Near the Margate late this afternoon. Here's the link to the WMUR story.
http://www.wmur.com/news/19745911/detail.html My thoughts are with the pilot and his family/friends as his injuries are life-threatening. |

Crash at Margate in Gilford
I've posted several pictures we took Sunday morning of the crash site. You can find them under Recently Posted or look for Crash at Margate in Gilford.
The plane crashed less than a humdred feet from the motel on the East side of Weirs Boulevard. A slightly different trajectory and he would have hit the motel. My condolences to his family and friends, Bill |

Union Leader Blurb...
Last week, the Union Leader mentioned that the aircraft's engine experienced a major "POP" on startup—then quit. Upon restarting, it went unobserved that the engine case had split and was leaking crankcase oil.
After examination of the engine at the crash scene, the crankcase was found to be empty. Upon takeoff—at 50' elevation—the engine had seized due to lack of lubrication.
