Default 2012 - U. S. Marine Corps Spouse of the Year

Forum Members

Some of you already know that my son and son-in-law are active duty U.S. Marines. My son-in-law serving as a crew member on V-22 Osprey's and my son serving as a officer with Marine ground troops. My son is currently serving another combat deployment, leaving the day after christmas, after being home only 7 months from his last combat deployment of 10 months.

This news is regarding my daughter, Carrie who has been selected as one of the five (5) national finalists for The US Marine Corps Military Spouse of the year.

Needless to say I am extremely proud of her.

She however needs our help by voting for her as Military Spouse of the Year for the Marines.

The process is simple ….. Visit the web site below and follow the instructions to register to vote.

They require registrations so that they can limit ballot stuffing.

Voting has already started and you can vote once every 60 minutes until 3 February…

Once you have gained access to the Marine Corps page, Carrie Darcey Bryant is the second person from the top on the list.

They have included a profile of her and the nomination paperwork that was submitted that led to her being one of the finalists.

Please spread the word to all your friends as well, so that she can be the Marine Corps Spouse of the Year

Thank You

Default Update --- Monday 23-January

Wow what a week for my daughter Carrie and her husband Shawn.

Carrie has received hundreds of votes as she progresses forward in her quest to be the top finalist for the 2012 Marine Corps spouse of the Year. However she is not in first place as I write this.

She has been interviewed, via phone, by the local newspaper in Attleboro, the Providence Journal and this morning she and Shawn appeared on the premier local TV station in San Diego , “ Good Morning, San Diego “

Attleboro Patch Newspaper

Providence Journal

http://news.providencejournal.com/br...th-native.html

TV Interview at Good Morning San Diego (after a 10 second station promo)

There is still time for you to vote for the first time or to vote again and again. Remember the rules allow a vote every 60 minutes, until February 03

Even my son Patrick has even has the opportunity to vote for Carrie from his duty station at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan

Hope you get to read the attached newspaper articles and enjoy the video from San Diego.

Thanks

Forum Friends,

My daughter just called me to tell me she did not win, but came is a close... and I mean real close second.... less than 1 % delta in total votes between first and second place.

I want to thank all of you who voted for her, it meant a lot to me

The support my wife and I have received from forum friends, especially during the many Iraq and Afghanistan deployments of my son and son-in-law and now with my daughters quest to be the Marine Corps Military Spouse of he Year is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for letting us know of the results. I voted for your daughter.

My son is USN - retired. His first deployment was 6 months in the Persian Gulf from January to June of '03. He eventually went three more times in the course of four years, then two years in San Diego, before going into the reserves. He loved the Navy, but his wife wasn't thrilled about the life.

We'll keep your family in our prayers. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

Default A very special honor !

I also voted for your daughter Carrie. While she may not have one the "big" contest, I can assure you she won the hearts of all of us. I nominate and suspect she can be declared the unanimous FIRST winner of "The Winnipesaukee Forum US Marine Corp. Spouse of the Year". Maybe she can make Forum Fest some year and we an give her an official winner certificate !!! God bless all who serve and their families who are such vital links to their well-being.
