Question A Melvin Village Link to the Coolidge Administration:

A Florida doctor has related a visit to the Alan (ph.) Dorian family in Melvin Village that has me puzzled. They lived in the house directly across the street from the church in Melvin Village.

(Pennsylvania was mentioned, as well as a possible Gastroenterology practice in Mt. Dora in Florida).

What little I've found locally is that he was a physician during the Korean War and has since passed away. His wife, Priscilla, however, had a close connection to Calvin Coolidge's Cabinet.

I've found precious little on the Internet about that family, but hold some hope from the wonders of this forum. Can anyone expand on this little tidbit from little Melvin Village?

When I saw your inquiry regarding Dr. Dorian, I emailed an old Melvin Village resident, now displaced to California. Here's her response:
"Doc Dorian and his wife Priscilla (she had a nickname that escapes my right now) summered at the farm across the street from the church. They brought horses with them from their home in PA. Priscilla died before Doc, and I know that they frequently went out to dinner with (name withheld) and Irene (name withheld), so [they] would have quite a bit more information than I have. The Dorian's had a son and maybe a daughter, but again, I think that David and Irene would know definitely about that."
I'll send you the withheld names by private message.
