Arrow Welcome To The Lakes Region

This Welcome To The Lakes Region sign is on Route 3 in Belmont.

The double sign is to show both sides. Have you ever seen the skiier?

It must have spun around at one point in time. Have you ever seen it in action? Did it ever light up?

Does anyone know how long it has been here and if it was put up by a business or was it a chamber of commerce or something?

Glad I finally snapped this unique sign for posterity. Is this something that will be preserved like the old Weirs Beach sign?

Thanks for your help!

The "Coke is it!" slogan came out in 1982.
