Dox
Went to lunch today at Dox on Winnisquam…it was great all around from service to food and atmosphere!
Speaking with the owner I was happy to hear they were opening a second location on Winnipesaukee….on the pier at the Weirs where Anthony’s was! It is going to be a full service restaurant and I can tell you that if the food and service mimics what they have on Winnisquam, it will be a winner! Congrats and good luck to DOX!! Dan

Dox
I've been to Dox several times and it is terrific. Great food and drinks. Every day between 4 and 5 is happy hour where menu and drink items are half-off. Great deal!
Whoever remodeled the space did a great job. |

Where it is so hard to get help, they must be doing something right to be looking to open a second location.
Finding great talent and keeping them engaged tells me the management is paying attention. |

Went there by boat several times this summer. Food and service were excellent.
Having been in the business, you can just tell when a restaurant is being run well and on top of their game. |

Dox
My kids, in their late 20's and mid 30's, none of them married, no grandkids , have visited multiple times since the day they opened. All positive feedback and aligns with what we have heard about their 2 Massachusetts restaurants.
Over the past 6 months while out doing errands I have stopped by at various times and if I found a parking spot there was not a seat at the bar, always a great sign, but a reason to leave. Day trip to the lake today with my wife to prepare for Xmas gathering. Left at 3:00 to head back to MA, driving by there was 4 parking spots, pulled in, 2 seats at the bar, perfect! Cocktail, appetizer, light lunch, an attentive and engaging bartender, perfect! The food was great! Looking forward to Saturday afternoons in January and February, hopefully by sled, support local! If you remember the 90's at that location, night and day difference. |

I have read some things that seem to say that the people that own Dox on Winnisquam have taken over Anthony's on the peir and are making it a sit down restaurant? Is this true

I always loved it there but it was very poorly run and the food wasn't very good. I think a sit down restaurant with servers is the way to go there. I wish them luck!

My wife and I tried Dox yesterday for early dinner (4:30 ish)
We both found it to be great and will go again! We sat outside on the deck which was pretty much empty but it filled up fast toward 5:30-6pm. 😊 |

Went last Friday at like 2:00, was told its a 20 - 30 minute wait. more than half the tables were empty! Took the boat back to the marina, drove down to Sawyers and got my food faster than that! Wont be back any time too soon.

Tried it out a week ago. Great views, nice staff, but food came out cold and disappointing.

How is Sawyers this year?

How is Sawyers this year? We've always gone there once a summer for a grease fix, (fried clams, etc), but when we were there last summer, it was mediocre at best. All the fried stuff, (clams, shrimp, fries), were not that hot and not that crispy....almost as if they had been sitting out for a while. Any better this year? |

First visit to Dox this evening. Very busy. Service was fine. We called ahead and was seated with 10 minutes of our slotted time. Food was very good and timely. Lobster Roll was terrific. Will visit again

Last year they were inconsistent, one trip there was only ok and the other was good. We were happy this time. But the best meal at the lake so far this year, a simple roast beef sandwich at Jons, might have been the best ever! They NEVER disappoint. Still crushed by the loss of Crazy Gringos, but what can we do,,, Over due for a trip to Hart's. And really need a prime rib dinner, so if you have a recommendation I am grateful. Thanks ;-) |
