Bizer GPS update anyone?
Just curious if anyone has been using the newest Garmin version G2 of Bizer's GPS lake chart and if so how do you like it? Looks pretty good to me, I just wish it had depth contour lines.
I use a 172C with Blue Chart data cards for the ocean and topo maps for the car so I know I'll be seeing a lot less detail. |

• Spot depths also appear (more as one zooms in) • Buoy color is now annotated next to buoys (e.g. “BW” is next to a black-and-white buoy). This was done because some NuVi’s do not display color buoys. Also, colors are difficult in low-light. Also, some Garmins are monochrome. • Burger King has been removed as a boating facility. All G2 versions shipped since May 5th have been updated. I plan to re-ship data to older G2 versions within two weeks. Screen shots were updated today at http://www.bizer.com/garmin (click on the photographic differences in the second paragraph). Last edited by Bizer; 05-12-2008 at 09:42 PM. |

thanks Bizer
I will be getting a new Garmin, probably a Nuvi 350, and will be ordering your Garmin map as well.
Thanks for all you do. Dave

Seeker, I also use a Garmin 172 it's the black & white Model. I purchased the G1 version last year and it worked very nice....not quite c-map quality but far better than garmin's mini g map version. All bouy's are right there as are hazards. I plan to up-grade to G2 this year...

Just a thought but you might want to look for a used 172C color model. Should be super cheap. I have a monochrome Map 76 and it's tough to see with these old eyes. The 172C is much easier for me to see. |
