I see that your swim platform is still in; are you planning on a last swim this weekend?

I should have a poll to see when it will be pulled! I know I don't want to be the guy that goes in the water to bring it in!!

Great picture, but to take you up on going for a swim, not today as it is a bit to cold for an old geezer.: laugh

43 degrees? I'll pass on the swim, but that's a great shot!

Default it is beautiful out there!

This photo is from Saturday evening, full moon rise over Moultonborough Neck... It was a beautiful weekend at the lake... I was hoping for some results of the Leonid Meteor Shower, however with the full moon, my 1am check yield nada... and at my 4am check the clouds had started to roll through... bummer!

More and more folks in residence over the years... it used to be that by this time, we were the only ones on Pine Island, there were at least 3 others there this past weekend... and lights on over on Bear, lots on M'boro Neck etc... people are discovering the beauty of the lake in the "off season"!

Speaking of swimming... I did go in last weekend, although I wouldn't call it a swim... more of a "quick dunk".... brrrrrr... last one for the season!! even with my "built in winter coat"... it was still cold!

gobble gobble gobble, see you at the lake for Thanksgiving!

Thanks for the great shot. Very peaceful. Wow, 1am and 4am checks? Good for you! The only thing I check at those times is to see if I'm still asleep!!

I'm still trying to re-live the spectacular Leonid meteor shower in 1999... there was no moon, the lake was like glass, and at 4am the youngest PIGlet and I bundled up in as much clothing we could find and went out in the aluminum boat to in between Bear and Five Mile... it was like a laser light show, ever minute or so another would streak across the sky, horizon to horizon... and they were so bright and the lake was so calm, you could see the reflection in the water... amazing and so far have never been able to repeat it... pretty sure it wasn't just some flashback from the 60's... my son has verfied my memory!!

Now of course at my advanced age do have a built in bladder alarm a couple of times during the night... very convenient for the once a year i want to check for meteors... not so convenient the remainder... (haha)

Default Swim platform

I remember one year we didn't take out the swim platform. When the ice froze we chipped the platform out and slide it to shore. It work!
