Default Flying high...

Gee whiz, I thought it was so exciting to see a fireball falling from the sky last week, but it appears some folks have much more enthralling tales to tell. This morning the Citizen has an article about two Laconia youths who report being in their vehicle when it was lifted into the air by a UFO ...

Default Not my teenagers!

I guess we all figured out it wasn't our car or window. Gotta give the kids a little credit for their story that made the newspaper. Who will cave first, E or D?

Default curious

I'm curious as to what people think actually happened here.
I gather, from what I have read, that the windshield popped outward, and, that an air bag deployed, yet there was no visible body damage to the car. Though an airbag can indeed accidentally deploy, it is indeed very unusual.
Maybe someone inside the car gave the windshield a kick?
But the airbag??? Strange.
Then again, maybe their story is true....
And, maybe Erica wasn't drinking...no no no, I didn't actually type that, just thought it...

Wink off-roading or barrier-jumping...

My personal theory on what happened is: They drove this car somewhere it should not have been driven, which caused sufficient damage to the underside of the vehicle to cause the passenger side airbag to deploy. The airbag is what broke the windshield. The story about the ufo was concocted as a means to explain the damage to Mommy.

Talking A little misleading

Pepper,

Your thread title sort of mislead me.

I thought for sure you were going to tell us about a wild party you had on Friday night.

The thought of E&D having a little UFO of their own frightens me more than anything. But then again, if they write about how it happened, it could be pretty good reading.

My pants were on but they were kinda not on which is when I took them off and found they were not on at all....

Wow, what a great way to get out of having to go out.

"Mom, we are really scared to go out tonight," said "E", "do you think it would be okay if we just hang out in my room, instead?"

Wonder why anyone would make up such an outrageous story, knowing they wouldn't be believed.....and, of course, the teasing. Might be true....you never know.

Right after reading the comedy stylings of this story the next thing I read is:

Renowned British astrophysicist Stephen Hawking says intelligent alien life-forms almost certainly exist, but trying to communicate with them is "too risky."

Their arrival, he says, would be like Columbus landing in the Americas, "which didn't turn out out very well for the Native Americans."

Unless they land in Arizona, then they will be arrested and deported!

Aren't they illegal??? I've heard about them alot lately.....I think they passed a new law in Arizona....and they can't tell what they look like....go figure. I guess if they lift your SUV they are illegal aliens (do they take it to some planet or just across the border for parts?)

They can't. It's strictly catch, probe and then release.
