Default Where to Order Birthday Cake

Hi! I turn 40 Sunday and want to order a nice cake this week. For those who have been in/around Nashua, I'm thinking of a Frederick's-type cake with maybe peanut butter and strawberry filling and buttercream frosting.

Anywhere around Moultonborough who can do that type of thing?

Not sure what Frederick's is all about but the Cup N' Crumb do very nice cakes to order. That would be the high end. Heath's supermarket are also very good and cheeper and probably less lead time

Does Heath's do custom cakes? And if I remember a past thread, the Cup and Crumb's cakes are by Jennifer the Cake Goddess or something?

Default Oo La La Creative Cakes

Would highly recommend Oo La La Creative Cakes in Meredith. LaShonda Allen is the woman's name, if I remember correctly. She did a custom cake for my wife's 50th last year. It was beautiful to look at and awesome to eat! She also did it on fairly short notice...couple days.

I agree. We ordered a carrot cake from them and I believe they have a private baker or business with which they fulfill some orders. It was ready in two days and was one of the best carrot cakes we've had.

The bakery at Heath does a wonderful job at the pastries and such that they make on a daily basis as well...

Thanks, friend!

Though I finally heard back from Oo La La, I'd already ordered two cakes from Heath's: a vanilla with fudge filling and buttercream frosting and a chocolate with raspberry filling and chocolate frosting. I'll post about the cakes after we demolish them!

Default bakeries

Cups and Crumb in Moultonboro and Village Bakery are the only two bakeries that will make a dark chocolate cake with coffee frosting! So they are my favorites!

Default Jacques

Hi there,

If you're willing to drive a bit, check into Jacques Pastries in Pembroke. It's a ways from Moultonborough, but not as far as Frederick's would be. My family has purchased many cakes there, for all kinds of occasions, and they do an amazing job! http://www.jacquespastries.com

Thought I'd post my experience with Heath's cakes: they were incredibly moist and fresh, with a nice subtle taste. For those familiar with Frederick's, though, they did not have that sweet punch I love in a birthday cake. So if you like more of a sweet cream style cake over more of an icing, Heath's is great! The price was ridiculously reasonable, as well: $15 for a thick 8" that easily serves 8-10 people (with good sized pieces).

Glad I ordered them, so thanks for the suggestion!
