Default Any year-round skating rinks?

Does anyone know if there is a skating rink that is open year-round? My daughter is a figure skater, and if we could find a place that has ice time in the summer where she could practice, it would make our lake life a lot easier! There are a few that I've found, but none I see that are open in the late spring/summer.

I was there for a graduation on Saturday and they had melted the ice. Not sure if it was just for the service or for the summer.

In Laconia, on Route 107, about a half mile south of the Route 3 & 11 Bypass. I'm not familiar with the availability. It's back a bit from the road on the East side.

Come down to Dover. We have a rink that is open year round. 35-40 minutes south of Alton.

... go to www.watervillevalley.org and click on ice arena ..... the WV Ice Arena is currently closed as the season ended on about March 31, but the Ice Arena re-opens on about July 1 for the summer season. The rink is huge, has incredibly smooth excellent ice, and the building stays about a cool dry 45-degrees all summer long...plus it is located next to Corcoran's Pond which has a public swim beach, and kayak-pedal boat rentals. It is truly nice to see what about three million dollars of well-spent, and well-planned money can build there for an indoor ice arena ...... go WV!

It hosts a number of different skaters in the summer, including some figure skating summer camps, ice hockey camp sessions for some very serious Canadian teams, the New England Wolves, and public skating for about 5-dollars.

That is interesting, I am a figure skating coach who comes up to the lake whenever I can from Nashville, TN. Where does your daughter normally train? Who is her coach and what level is she?

Most of the rinks around the lake are only seasonal, the Laconia one for sure. There are some other like Dover which was mentioned, I think the Plymouth ones closes as well.

For a while I lived as at the lake and commuted to Boston to teach, that was a real hardship. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Best Wishes,

Default Skating

My daughter skates year round. Thankfully the winter months are close to home at the Laconia Ice Arena, but they close for the summer April 1. We have a short window to skate at Plymouth, but they take their ice out for graduation should the weather not permit an outdoor event (that's what I've heard anyway). right now we travel to Hookset. Tri Town Ice Arena. They have 2 rinks, frequent freestyle sessions and power edge classes. Walk-ons welcome. Just south of that is the Ice Den, also open all summer with free style sessions. I believe Plymouth will open again mid July-ish.

Nothing like spending a gorgeous summer Sunday afternoon in an ice rink!
