Default Snow Pix

Guys, we had the wonderful earlier thread on home pages that I absolutely adored...

How about posting some snow pix, especially if anyone has any of the current storms in the area!

17" on the hill side in Wast Alton when I made my 1st plow pass on the driveway this morning. Looks like we are getting about 3" more now.
The driveway is 650' gravel with a steep section, need chains on all 4 wheels to deal with a storm like this. If it had been heavy wet snow I would have had to make a midnight pass half way through. Or go at it with the tractor FEL.

Went to go out the front door of my house in Wolfeboro and @17" of snow hindered my process. I took this picture early this morning and it's been snowing heavy ever since. It looks like it could add another few inches to the total.

With the blowing snow and it's still coming down, picture taking is somewhat limited. The visibility is not very far.

But...I am looking forward to some spectacular picture taking opportunities tomorrow. It's supposed to be sunny, blue sky, and no wind. After a fresh snowfall, I expect it will be beautiful.

Default Snow shark

I took this 2 years ago. Accumlated snow on a rock in my yard seemed to take on the appearance of a shark fin.

Can anyone here from the South Down or Long Bay area tell me how much snow you got? Here in CT I was blessed with 30".

WMUR-Channel 9 tv-news just mentioned that Plymouth, NH only got 7 1/2-inches of snow. That seems pretty low......how did that happen.....if that is to be believed? Must have something to do with all those 24 wind turbines up top the ridge just to the west of Plymouth, up in Groton; the incoming snowflakes get all sliced & diced by those 24 whirling wind turbine blades, and what would have been 22 1/2" gets minimized down to 7 1/2"!

Default Horse Play

My wife's Appy Arab cross Alex on the left playing with his paddock buddy Bones today in the snow. They had been racing around in the fresh snow. Photo taken by the nice lady where Alex is boarded.

I had planned on coming up this weekend to see the Meredith Fishing Derby, etc., but......all roads are closed here and we have a couple of feet of new snow. That's a bird on the table.

Nice picture, is the horse OK? If you look at one of the hoofs it looks like it is bleeding.
Our kids had a blast playing with my wife while I was out all day plowing.
The new puppy had an especially great time with her big brother.

Good eyes BR seeing the red but no blood. The horse Bones on the right (haflinger pony) has a strip of red "vet rap" tied around a prior bruise. Bones belongs to the owner of the farm and has had a slight limp for a week.
Alex and Bones are best buddies and had a great time blowing off energy in the snow.

Default The day after

This was taken on Sunday. The week before it was glare ice and ice skating; this day it was kite skiing (or are they snowboarding?) at Melvin Village.
