OK. It's drought.

Seems like not enough Winter snow and Spring rain.

Yet map here shows "normal". But other parts of state may have drought issues.

And some lake water issues.

Do the murder hornets prefer a dry or rainy year?

Actually, I'm surprised it's as good as it is considering how dry it was last Fall. If memory serves, the southern part of the state was VERY dry, moderate to severe drought. Now it is just "abnormally dry". A couple good rain storms could rectify that. Last Spring there were no problems. The National Weather Service is predicting, in the period extending through July, that "Drought Removal" is likely for our area because precipitation is expected to be somewhat above "normal" levels.

It seems too early to worry about conditions that could be alleviated by a good 2-day soaking rain. Winnipesaukee is "full" and the dam has cut back from 600 to 240 CPS, probably because there is no significant rain in the 10-day forecast and the weather is finally getting warmer, causing increased losses due to evaporation.

Be at peace, Grasshopper.
