Default Drywall repair

Hi All, I have a hole repair project in my Meredith home due to a change in the location of a thermostat. Can anyone recommend someone who does that sort of thing?

Not hard to do yourself if you have a leftover piece of drywall.

Square the hole.
Cut a piece of drywall the same size as the squared whole.
Cut 2 pieces of 1x or furring 4 inches longer than the side of the square.
Center the wood pieces to the inside of the drywall at the top and bottom of the square hole using a drywall screw at each end.
Place the new piece of drywall in the hole over the wood and attach with a drywall screw in each corner.
Put drywall tape over the seams and spread drywall mud (you can get a small tub of pre-mixed at Lowe’s or Home Depot).
Sand smooth.
Repeat mudding/sanding feathering the mud out till you can’t see the seams or the mud marks (this is the time consuming part.)

For a thermostat hole should take a beginner less than an hour if they have the materials.

Time doesn’t include mudding/sanding process. (Sorry, forgot to add this)

Take a look at Ron Hazeltons site.
Search drywall repair.

Google "California Patch". I've been meaning to try this myself.
