Default Willows

I attended a great private party at Willows a few weeks ago.
What is the general feeling towards that restaurant? It looked nice and cozy but only had appetizers the night I was there.

Wife and I ate at Willows a couple of times before we left the lake in the fall. Both times seemed exceptional. Courteous waitstaff, reasonable prices, timely service and great food. I had a steak both times and the wife had fish. We definitely plan on returning.

I thought Willows was great, I was there in the fall. Great food, waitstaff was friendly. We are heading back up the lake in a couple of weeks and plan on going back.

Are you all kidding me Willow's in the Weirs? They are by far the worst restaurant in the area. I have tried it; my friends have tried it on numerous occasions. Every time it was the most awful experience, the food was cold, over cooked, and we sat for hours! Have you seen the prices, OUTRAGIOUS, the three times I have given them a chance the all the prices have gone up, they must be making up for the lack of clientel they have lost. From what I have observed it is not just the all the waitress’ fault, just simply poor management. I pity anyone who goes there. Save your time and money.

Local,
A bit harsh, wouldn't you say. Whenever I see a post such as yours I read " axe to grind, or some other sort of agenda ". I've eaten a few times at Willows and find the fare to be quite good. It's not gourmet, but then gourmet doesn't exist in the Lakes Region. I've also noted many other posts that seemed to have enjoyed Willows, so as I said, when I see a lone post stand out, one way or the other, I take it with a grain of salt. My only regret in posting this comment, is you will no doubt feel compelled to give us your horror story, and maybe post under another name to reinforce your vitriolic diatribe. In closing, I find most restaurants up here to be pretty much what they present themselves to be, and negative post are from phantom gourmet wannabe.

Default Willows

My husband and I have been to Willows several times since they opened, every time it was very enjoyable. The staff was extremely friendly, and the food was very good. Love the smoke free environment as well! We definately will be returning. I also agree with Zeke wholeheartedly as far as the "axe to grind" issue, I see the same thing.

I have noticed a general decline at this restaurant over about the past 9 months. We originally ate there in the fall and the menu was terriffic; the food was was great. We had one amazing appetizer - brie and cranberries...terrific. This has not been on the menu since.

Over the past 6 months the quality of the food has declined considerably. The menu seems fairly basic and the food preparation and quality is much worse. We ate there last about 4 weeks ago and the food was fair, at best.
The waitstaff is still attentive, but they need to get the quality of the food back to that of their early days. We are going to give this restaurant a rest for a while and see what happens.
