Default Great Cormorant on Wolfeboro Bay?

This bird has been sitting out on Wolfeboro Bay for a good portion of the morning. I don't have a zoom greater than 200mm. I put that lens on both of my cameras, but this is the best I can do.

Anyone know if this is a Great Cormorant? Is it something else?

Default I'd say so ...

Judging by the attached image which is identified as a Great Cormorant, matching the size and shape, as well as the wings, I'd say your identification is right on ..

I read that a juvenile has a white belly. It looks pretty fat for a Cormorant, that was what was throwing me off.

I saw it sitting there this morning as well. At the end of Lake Street. At first I thought it was the Eagle again. I believe it is a Cormorant. I didn't have my camera today as I am still uploading my pictures from my Wedding trip to Hawaii for the past two weeks. I have almost a thousand pics, and several MBs of Video to go through.

Default a bit more info ...

Indeed it is a very large bird! Check out this link for more info as well ...

It's the sheer size of the bird that makes me more convinced that it IS a Great Cormorant.

I do agree with that. It's almost like a penguin's belly!
