Default Huge Fireworks Show Friday July 19th Wolfeboro Bay !

Hello All,

Well Let's try this again, we are gearing up for the fireworks show on Friday July 19th right after sunset. Fill those boat coolers and get out into Wolfeboro Bay for the most Amazing Home fireworks show this year! Look for the Barge half way between Downtown and Sewall Point on the Western Shore Side. The Long Range Weather Forecast is looking GOOD!

Don't want to rain on your parade and really hope all goes well but there is a good chance of t-storms friday afternoon/evening with more severe potential on Saturday.

Looks real good as of 3 pm.Keep your eye on your radar if you go by boat,There have been some pretty nasty surprize pop-up storms the last few nights. The real strong front comes in Saturday to clear out this Amazonian airmass.

Sculpin...cruised by your house and I didn't see activity. Like barges, US Flag banners, speakers, etc. like I saw last year. Greatest fireworks ever! Thanks for the entertaining us last year. Been waiting for this year's show.
Have you started setting up yet. I have a whole island of neighbors planning on going.
Just checked radar weather. There is a ban of thunderstorms coming down from Montreal. Could be the front that breaks the heat. Hopefully later tonight and not during your fireworks display. I don't want to see a lightening display.

We're here at 8:40pm and no indication of a show. Is it still on?

I don't know about the fireworks show but the lightning show in the Northern sky is nothing short of impressive!! I have never seen anything like it before with no thunder, just amazing!

If they stopped the fireworks it is most likely because of this lightning off in the distance.

I got severe storm warnings on my 5 weather apps. Then the MP cruised by 8:40 Pm and alerted us to an approaching storm. We decided to head for cover and go home to Tuftonboro and 19 mile bay.

We cranked up the 300 HP Verado at WOT and made it back to our safe dockage in 15 minutes only to look up and see the moon light sky.

We had 8 folks on board that had never seen your fireworks. Hopefully you were able to launch you well planned fireworks display. So sorry not have them seen from our boat which we planned with all all our friends for a year.

thank you for your dedication to provide great entertainment for all of us. I guess I will have to wait until next year again...Only if you will provide the same display.

If we can contribute to your display I think ourselves and others would chip in.

Did anyone capture it on You tube or any other media?

Default Sorry to those who left...

We watched the whole show...I did keep myself updated on the Android as to where the line of storms was and where it was heading. We decided we could wait it out, but then again we would be heading to Alton Bay when we left.

Display was really nice, and it sure was comfortable to sit in the bow with an ice cold bottle of water.

Once the show was over, it was out past Sewall Pt and Little Barndoor, then across the end of the Broads that had a light to moderate chop from the west, or southwest, and once we were in Alton Bay it smoothed right out. Great night on the lake.

Thanks Sculpin..great show.

Fantastic show!!! we loved it from the docks in wolfeboro. some friends were in their boat and were waiting for the show to begin and the MP told them they better move on because of an inpending storm. I checked my android "radar now" app and saw that it was still a ways off but they headed towards alton and missed the show. Love the way you kept us on the edge of our seat with the hesitations between volleys. from shore than from barge and low than high, and that awesome finale. great job, Thank you very much.

Default Strange re: Marine patrol

We were anchored just to the right of Goodhue Hawkins mooring field. There were at least a half dozen boats nearby. One MP boat came over to our area, and talked to two kayakers who were out there with the appropriate white light showing. They then talked to a boat that was nearby the kayakers, who then pulled up his anchor and slowly moved away. Thought he would re-anchor, but instead continued away from the area.

The MP boat did not come over to any other boats near us. We did see it go over to another boat that was closer to the barge, and that boat moved. We assumed that he/she was told to move because of being too close to the barge. However, that boat just continued away as well.

Strange.

Default Nothing Strange, really

Hi! That was me you saw in the boat by the kayakers. I had just heard the radio alert about the storm mention Meredith as a town needing to take cover. I flagged down the Marine Patrol and asked if the show was really going to take place, what with the storm and all. He said yes it was. I decided that the Meredith warning was a little too close for comfort and decided to pull anchor and head home.

Watched the show over my shoulder as I left and out in the Broads, a quick scoot to my dock. It looked good!

Default Very impressive show!

IslandPrincess and I were there along with another couple and a family. Great show!!!!!

The MP came by right across our bow and asked us to move further from the barge, although it sure seemed as if we were more than 150 feet away. No problem - just moved back. They circled in front of the boats another time, too.

The storm in the background was also quite spectacular! The storm that hit Rattlesnake later on (or at least this part of Rattlesnake) was quite something as well.

Great job with the fireworks, for sure!!! Thank you!

Default Two shows

Sitting on our dock, we got two impressive light shows. To the right, colorful fireworks, to the left the lightening show, also spectacular.

The storm around midnight was so late, I was too lazy to get up and look... It was lighting up the sky from what I could see through the little window. The air conditioner blocked the thunder.

Glad you all enjoyed the show. MP was a bit worked up over the storms, just about 9pm they even advised us to get it going asap. Our family has enjoyed shooting off July fireworks for many many years here. Every year we just try to improove from the prior year. Unfortunately this year we had two small technical difficulties. About 3 displays into the smaller batch the fuse went out and we had about a 10 minute delay getting it going again. Then one of the speaker wires got pulled out and that took a few mins to fix.

From the viewing angle your boats had, were you able to see the display that was launched into the water and then they all rose up and shot up from the lake?

Default Yes..

Over to your right, towards G. H. mooring field...we could see them just fine...weren't sure how they were going off. I thought there was a floating string of fireworks.

Great show...thanks for allowing us to share with you.

My husband and I were in the well lit wood kayaks! The Marine Patrol was very nice and respectful and simply concerned about us getting back to shore if a storm came. We found all the boaters on the lake to be very friendly, as well. We LOVED being on the lake to watch the fireworks - a first for us! Thank so much Fireworks People!

Sorry we missed the fireworks. Marine Patrol suggested we head home due to oncoming storm. Was there wonderful patriotic music played like they did last year?

Yes, the music was there. You could hear it quite clearly out in the Bay.

One question: There appeared to be 2 sites involved. At one, there were some speeches going on and some kind of rally or political gathering of sorts. Maybe it just looked that way - hard to tell from out in the bay.

Any ideas about what the speeches were all about and/or who was involved? I heard one statement to the effect of "we lost this time, but we'll be back" or something like that. This is not an exact quote.

Not sure about 2 sites? This may explain the sound variations though. At our family's cookout, the head of household uses the microphone to thank all his guests, and to thank all those who work hard helping him put together his giant cookout and fireworks display. When he is done, we start the music up, lite the wik and away we go! This year he spoke twice because he jumped back on when the wik went out after 2 displays.
