Default Bring back the Yum Yum Shop

I grew up on apple turnovers and pizza for breakfast at the Yum Yum shop in the summer. I was devastated to find out it is no longer open.

The jelly donuts were fantastic! As a child my dad would take me into
Wolfeboro from Alton Bay and the bookstore, Black's gift shop and Yum Yum
shop were absolutes. We also dined at Edgewood restaurant in Alton, and
(dating myself here) Dot's Lunch at the Rt. 11 rotary. My mom still has an
ashtray (What's an ashtray?!) from there. I just realized that I'm always
replying to the food reviews.

I walked by on Monday and they were doing a soil boring tests. I can only assume that there is a contract signed for the sale and they are doing a phase 2 environmental test.

Default Esso?

Sure. Wasn't it formerly a gas station?

Yes, it was a GULF.

The Esso (would now be Exxon) was across the street on the hill from Hunters and is currently a small park.

If you look really carefully you can see the Gulf sign.

Where Cate Park is today.

I noticed someone has placed several posters on the outside of the Yum Yum building begging them to come back such as "Be a good fella and bring back the crullers"

Default Yum Yum & Wolfeborough Diner

I just arrived n Wolfeboro and headed for q quick lunch at the Wolfeborough Diner and much to my surprise it had closed! What happened? No one I asked seems to know. I also enjoyed donuts and raspberry turnovers when we stayed at Edward's on Wentworth.

I see a new front patio going in and work being done inside..

I’m guessing they’ll be opening this year?

So you heard that they will not open until flowers are planted outside the building? What an odd reason to delay an opening on one of the busiest weekends.

Well, if you've seen it, it's a little more than flowers. Right now it would be very dangerous for anyone to walk to the door. But it's coming along.

Default Yum Yum Shop

I talked to the new owner on Wed. They hope to open in a couple of weeks. They were expecting display cases on Thursday and have some minor work to complete. They will try to have a grand opening then.
