Default Moving Companies

Sadly, we will be moving away from our Moultonborough lakehouse in the near future after 17 years.

I would appreciate any positive recommendations on Lakes Region moving companies.

I will also always continue to enjoy the treasure known as the Winnipesaukee Forum.

Sorry to hear you are leaving.
I have no knowledge of local moving companies, however we have used Mayflower several times. One a move to California and they were great. They kept everyone informed as to arrival. You could contact Mayflower and they would direct you to their local affiliate.
Best of luck in the future.

I used these people twice, both times with excellent results. I highly recommend their service. William C Huff Moving & Storage, 1-800-247-5564.

They were a nightmare for us. Destroyed our DR table by stupidly screwing some bolts through the top from underneath. Did nothing about it while in storage, although it had been seen as it happened and reported. Then, after a lot of badgering, sent it to a repairer, who tried but could not restore it completely. Didn't pay him for years, didn't answer phone calls. Finally got the table back from the craftsman, who was tired of storing it for free, but he was never paid, himself. Not stand-up people at all.

How's about that R J CROWLEY MOVING in Plymouth, with their big moving trucks, been in biz for years and years.

Has a large RePurpose retail store in Plymouth with many different household items that got left behind when people move out .... is a surprisingly large store .... with some unusual furniture and fixtures/items/goods.

We used Huff when we moved to Alton from MA last year. They were very good. Price was middle of the pack, not cheapest, but also not most expensive. I would recommend them.

We used Huff when we moved to Wolfeboro two years ago. No problems and always recommend them.

I have never used Huff but know many people who have and all have been very pleased.

Maybe that's the main idea - if nothing has gone wrong, it's great. I'm just pointing out that when something did, in our case, it was nightmarish to fix it, and both we and the craftsman were stiffed. I made many, many calls to Fl, where the owner was hanging out, and at no time was treated respectfully.

It's heartbreaking to watch your DR table drilled through by some clown and not even get an "oops." And then wait years for a resolution that didn't come.

We've moved many times and never experienced a problem like this.

We have used Huff a few times, including a few weeks ago. The crew was great and the job was on budget. The crew was a blast. Great guys, very personable. Honestly seemed to be enjoying what they were doing.

Default Movers

I just finished a move with Central Lakes Region Movers out of Belmont, and I can't say enough good about them. They took an empty truck 300 miles, picked up a load of furniture off of a list, packed it perfectly, unloaded it professionally, and arrived at both locations on time to the minute. Very reasonable pricing.
