Default Looking for a rental - 11 adults/11 Kids

Hi all, just wanted to see if anyone has any availability this summer? Looking for a place to sleep 11 adults and 11 kids from 6 months up to 7 years old for a week over the summer. Hoping for a dock that can handle a 24' Four Winns as well. Fairly flexible on dates right now aside from the last week of August as my wife will be back to school. Thanks in advance! Anthony

Hooboy! Good luck to you! Please please don’t rent near me! 😂
There aren’t many places with your requirements. There is one place on or near Jeremiah Smith in Moultonborough that accommodates quite a large number. Other than that...can’t help.

Haha, I know it sounds crazy, but we have a pretty well regulated group of kids!

Default Multiple listed rentals

I think that many, if not most, of the summer rentals are multiple-listed, so find a good rental agent....they are not all as diligent as Sue Gravelle at the old C21 in Center Harbor....it’s now Berkshire Hathaway, I think. Good luck! But....I repeat...
not near my place! . At the Lake Vacation Rentals....Sue Gravelle

Go on VRBO and do a search. Just put in how many bedrooms or how many the rental sleeps. There are a few out there just be prepared for the cost involved for that many people!!

I did a search.
The Retreat Haven On Moultonborough Neck, Long Island is available for the week July 4 through the 11th. It’s approximately $19,000 for the week. It looks like the only one that’s big enough for what you’re looking for.

Great job, Susie Cougar! Now I guess we should set up a GO FUND ME page for the party of 22!

I also recommend Sue Gravelle from At The Lake Vacation Rentals. I had a waterfront rental listed with her for several years and they did a great job.

She may have listings for two adjacent properties that would work if they do not have one property large enough. I believe that they have over 100 rental properties listing with them.

Default A castle

Not exactly lakes region, but this castle in Rindge has a private lake. 8 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, sleeps 22. Great reviews.

Default Sounds like a difficult request...

Certainly Bayside Rentals in Meredith needs to be consulted. Ask for Ruth.

Oh where do you live? Oh you know that big castle down by main street.... Imagine that being your primary residence.

Thanks for all the humorous replies and for the contacts at the rental agencies. I'll be reaching out to them. We have been searching VRBO and Home away, but without having specific dates it becomes a bit cluttered, plus I'd love to give the business to someone on the forum or a contact on the forum as everyone here has been super helpful in the past.

Thanks again,
Anthony

I looked at At the Lake Vacation Rentals. There is a place on West Point Rd. on Moultonborough Neck that has availability in June for $10,500 a week. It also has availability August 15 through the 22nd for $13,500 a week. It says it sleeps 20 but you have some little kids so it seems like it’s a good choice.

Property number 131. The weather turned here in Florida and I can’t swim today so I have plenty of time. Hope this helps.

According to the website, it is a primary residence. They also have a camp somewhere so they rent the castle out in the summer. (I talked to the guy a couple of years ago). Average cost on the website is $1500/night. For 11 adults, that's about $137 each, and the kids are free. And the boats, beach disc golf etc is all included. For a big group, this is cheaper than many VRBO offerings.

Question Wolfeboro Neck?

In what part of the lake were you looking?

Last I checked, it was $5000/week, but supported five families. Wide, sunny, perched sandy beach, faces north, three long docks.

Don't know who's listing it, but Maxfield Realty should know of it.

Can you be more arrogant? Not for nothing, every reply you've made is horrible. Twice you've reiterated "not near me" and now assuming he needs a go fund me for this? I don't like to wish negative things on people but I really hope some college kids rent a house right by you for the entire summer and enjoy every ounce of it.

Ahh inflection is so difficult to get through text on a website! I didn't take any comments as being derogatory.

We have a unique situation where there is a group of what used to be 12 adults, now 11, my best fried passed from cancer last October, who have been very close friends since about 12 years old. We are all pretty much family and have grown our families with an army of kids now. Most people would think a massive group like that would be a tornado coming through , but we have a pretty solid group of kids and the parents are pretty cool too!

Juiced, I am sorry for the loss of your friend, and hope that you and your group find a great place to enjoy a vacation. Several of us poked some gentle fun at you because of the size of your group, and you seem to have handled our jibes as they were intended....just a little fun. Anyhow, best of luck in your search!

Home Away has availability July 11 through the 18th, and also two weeks in June. The house is near Long Island Beach and gets very good reviews from families. It’s about $3500 for the week. It says it sleeps 15, but all you need are a few pack and plays for the little ones.
It just says “House and Cottage near Long Island Beach”. It doesn’t seem to have a reference number.
As much fun as I’ve been having, I have to stop looking because I have my daughter and grandchildren coming in tonight so I’ve got to get things ready and they’re going to expect to go swimming even though we’ve had a cold spell. It’s always that way, LOL.

With that big of a group, my suggestion is to reach out to rental agencies, likely you will not find a single property that can accommodate all of you. But with enough lead time, you might find a situation where you rent multiple properties in the same general location.

None of us rent anymore, but the properties on either side of me, and of course my property used to get rented occasionally for family re-unions.... even when we weren't actively renting, and agent who know all three of us, would reach out to us when she had a request for a large number of people......

Unfortunately one side just sold this winter and has new owners, and the other side is now retired and use their place as much as possible for themselves.... Can't blame them for that......

On the upside when we would do such a rental, the people where always very grateful, which was nice.... on the down side, sometimes we would spend a lot of time, getting silverware and plates and dishes back to the right location!!!!

Unfortunately I don't have a recomendation on rental agents or agencies, as the person we used to use, sold her business and is no longer living in the lakes region.

I often take vacations with families that have 4+ children. It is a challenge if you want to stay together.

What has worked for us..... Rent a home at the desired location that ALSO has 1 or 2 spots in the driveway that is big enough for rental RV.

Use the camp for entertainment/cooking....... It is not all that difficult to figure out sleeping situations if the camp has more comfortable beds.

KIDS!!!! GET IN THE CAMPER!!!!

Thanks for the replies everyone and all the helpful info, but it looks like we'll be trying out Sebago this year. Someone else in the group was able to secure two properties there. I've been wanting to check it out as eventually I am looking for a vacation house for our family and we've never boated there before.

I would never rent a group that large if I had a private septic system. Imagine the bio load of 22 people for a week. That's more than our place gets in an entire season

I agree...that's a boatload of TP with 11 kids (kids like to use 5x more so they don't get their hands dirty) Also with "renters" you have the possibility of people flushing "stuff" down that they wouldn't flush at home...
