Default hot tub repair

Hello all,
Anyone know someone that knows how to repair an outdoor 8 person hot tub? It is a dimension one and the dealer is having someone from Maine call me on Monday. Sooner is better... Closer is also better...

What seems to be the problem. Is it the plumbing or fiberglass (Plastic) repair??

i think it has a split hose. In other words, its leaking from inside the insulation. I was advised to clean away the insulation, see where the leak is and maybe it will be fixable. Anyone had an experience with this?

Sorry, pushed the thanks button.I had a leak in mine after it froze.Mine had sprayed in foam so it took some digging to locate it.I was able to have a general idea of where to look by where all the water was coming from.I started carving out the foam until I found the line that was broken.Mine was actually not the hose but a pvc fitting.I was able to repair it myself and just bought some spray insulating foam in a can and filled the cavity
I had created.Probably cost me less than $10.Give it try.

Wow, that sounds exactly like what I am dealing with. What kind of tub did/do you have? How long did the whole project take you?

Thanks

I am not sure if they do service out of the Tilton location or just out of Eliot, Maine but Northern Pool and Spa is the local Dimension One dealer in the area. Have you tried them?

I believe the brand is a Regency. It's old, maybe 18 years. There was nothing proprietary with the tubing and fittings. I probably spent a few days on it. Start digging in the area and see what you have. A repair person would do the same thing. You have to locate the leak and see what you got.

Thanks again, it looks like thats our Memorial Day weekend project.

Codeman- They only service out of Eliot Me. The guy called me and told me exactly what Sik posted. He did offer to talk me through some of it if I got in there.

The other option was- they could fix it for $1500 IF I got the 1100 lb tub to them OR they could arrange shipping for an additional $800. As you might have guessed... Not an option. That doesn't even take into account the fact that the tub is up on a ledge over the water. I had to have it craned in to begin with...

Tried to upload a pic but that is beyond my skill level, lol.

Sundance Spa in Meredith is excellent and close. They are a Sundance dealer that I bought my home tub from but they also came out and fixed my CalSpa tub at the lake. It doesn't sound like a brand specific problem so you might give them a try.

As a side note, my home tub froze this winter after a power surge. We hadn't used it in a couple weeks and didn't realize that the power was out. Long story short, my insurance company covered it 100%. I had a 15 year old tub replaced with a brand new one for free.

If a picture is beyond your skill level I suggest you pay to have it shipped.

YES, Energy Savers in Meredith fixed mine! It's a Hot Springs, which was purchased there. Too heavy for me to do it alone!

Default all fixed

okay, the saga is over. The tub is fixed and my insurance covered most of it. We used Northern pool and Spa on 236 in Eliot Me. They were fantastic. Tub went back in last week and we were back in it 2 nights ago. Good as new.

Thanks to all, especially Gatto Negro, would never have thought of insurance.

If I knew how to post pics here I would post a few of it being craned back up onto the rock overlooking the water.

Really surprized that the insurance covered most of that, especially with its location.I'll be over with the swedish bikini team and a full cooler.

I love it when a plan comes together.
