Default How cold is it?

How cold does it "feel"?

Here is a link to the NOAA's chart for wind chill numbers. Amaze your friends! Let them know, "ayah, it's 5 below, but the wind chill makes it feel like minus thuty"

Default WMUR - Reported..

This morning,on the 5AM broadcast, WMUR reported that the summit on Mt. Washington is currently the 2nd coldest place on earth, just behind the South Pole.

I'm assuming that is beacuse of the winds that are peaking at almost 120MPH as of 5.30am today.

Right now on Alton Mountain the temp is -5.4 with a wind chill at -21.4 degree but is going down to about -10.3 as it keeps changing with each gust of wind. The highest gust here was 38.3 @ 1.57 am.

Default Incredible

At Smith Point it is -7 and -25 with wind chill. The wind is whipping snow so intense that we can barely see the top of Rattlesnake Island and its less than 1/4 mi away - but we can see the blue sky above. Some interesting snow drift formations too. Wild!!!

The wind was wild last night. Thought for sure there would be some trees down.

Mont Vernon, down near Amherst, there are several trees down that also took down power lines.

Here locally, we haven't spotted it yet, but we heard a tree, or perhaps a tree top come crashing down about an hour or so ago. Craaaaakkkkk, kaboom, THUD!

Yard is littered with pine needles . Looks like a snow jump landing zone out there, which it could be given our snowbanks.

Thanks for sharing. I had never heard of Nunavut. I looked it up and now I know where it is located.
