Winnipesaukee.com Makes the News Again
(The intent of this posting is NOT to begin any kind of debate about the proposed speed limit!)
THIS ARTICLE appeared in this morning's Concord Monitor. |

Eyewear yes, but no PFD?
Quote:
I note with approval the eyewear the subject boater is using. It conforms to the same regulation New Hampshire requires of its motorcycle operators. (The one that New Hampshire LEOs enforce all the time). With opaque "sport graphics" now extending across the windshields of some boats, eye protection -- like discussed in this article -- is a really good idea. .

McDude:
The same article (with the same words rearranged) appeared in the Boston Globe yesterday, and this morning in the Citizen. http://www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll...175/-1/citizen Quote:
Anyway, are these three nearly-identical columns really "News" articles? Or "Infomercials"? .

...last Summa for the Humma
A month ago, the Summa Humma, that brilliant yellow 49' Fountain boat, powered by three large inboard-outboard engines, and emblazioned w/ bold black checkered graphics across the bow had been for sale. It was listed in www.nhboat.com for $295,000. Maybe, it still is for sale? It will be a real shame, honestly, if that boat gets sold off to South Florida, or someplace. Just like that South Sea Island community in the King Kong-1973-Jessica Lange movie; it needed a King Kong monster to keep all the natives from becoming useless alcoholics. The Lake Winnipesaukee community needs the Summa Humma! (: lightbulb)

If in fact that is the same boat it is and has been for sale on the Silver Sands web page since last summer. I drooled and thought twice last year. I take enough harassment for driving a Hummer, I can only imagine the abuse I'd take for that...

Thanks to all its' recent newspaper publicity, it's become sort of an icon - the Summa Humma - which could be a good reason for it not to be sold, but to be driven. Every time it roars past we can all look on in awe. Let's start a voluntary collection basket and hang it under the Governor's Island bridge for Summa Humma's gasoline money and boat polish. All hail the Summa Humma!
Winnipesaukee legend: if you want good summertime weather........................all hail the Summa Humma! What a cool boat! |

I remember the 52 footer quite well. I saw it a number of times tied up at Silver Sands. Haven't seen it recently though. I did see Summa Humma come out of Paugus Bay last Sunday. It went South of marker 1 and headed strait for it's berth on Governors. Once all the occupants were on land, she was hoisted out of the water on her lift. It was quite a sight.
