Default Snow!

Started snowing at 5:00 down here in northern RI, and accumulating pretty fast. We expect another 4-5 inches today, and a snow, sleet, rain mess tomorrow. Enough already!

8:22 am: Has started snowing lightly here in Waterville Valley with a temp of ten degrees.

Here's a surprise, at least to me, WV is almost just as up north as Conway when viewed on a map.

They were predicting 4-6" here in western MA yesterday....ya right ...we got close to a foot. Today isn't looking like a picnic either. 3-5 expected with sleet and freezing rain.

On one of my fishing forums there appears to be a lot of folks having problems with ice dams in eastern MA. How are things looking up there. I had to shovel my roof in 1996. Looks like it may have to be done again but I doubt I can do that anymore. Just might have to hire someone to do it. Sucks getting old!

I had some ice dams that I took care of last week. I have a renovation in process that left a very small spot of open air into my attic from a heated room and the ice dams formed there. I have since covered that small hole (about 6" around) with insulation and no problems again yet.

I shoveled off the roof and put some pantyhose filled with ice melt along the edge of the roof to get the ice gone.

Pretty much everywhere is sold out of roof rakes.
