Default Wedding barn or boathouse venue

Our son just got engaged. We are so thrilled. He proposed to his girlfriend on our beautiful restored 1977 Cape Dory sailboat. They are now looking for a place to have the wedding next year. Apparently, weddings in barns are the new trend. Last year as Captain of the Millie B I had a couple get married in the bride's parents boathouse. It was so cool. After the ceremony they ran out of the boathouse and jumped into the Millie B as I took off with a loud roar and to a cheering crowd.
So we are helping our newly engaged son and his fiance try to find a barn or boathouse for their wedding. Any ideas? All thoughts and well wishes are welcome. Thank you.

Default Wedding barn or boathhouse venue

Although not exactly a barn, Hobbs Restaurant has a certain feel about it, and the upstairs is fairly large.

Does the location (geographically) make a difference?

Default Check this place out...

We have a camp on the end of Newfound Lake. We pass this place and they host weddings almost every weekend. Its located in the little town of Hebron. We have seen them set up large tents out back and also have been set up in the barn which looks like its set up pretty nicely. With the amount of weddings we have seen performed there, they must do it up right. This is their website..

Kona boathouse? Gus's Lodge on Cow? Good luck, sounds like fun!

We were there for dinner last week and they told us about building an addition for barn weddings. Thanks for the idea.

Kona boat house. The home of the Swallow. That is a great suggestion. We will tell the kids and let them know.

Sunny Slope Farm in Alton also does barn weddings.... http://www.sunnyslopefarmnh.com/#!weddings--events/ceyj

I think Magic Foods, (O's, Canoe) is going to open the barn in Wolfeboro, check them out. The catering is second to none!

Congratulations!! Yes, I think the barn at the Inn on Main soon to be O's is a nice place for barn weddings as is the Moody Mountain Farm. Somebody also mentioned Tumbledown Farms, I know they have been doing weddings lately. Have fun, you have a lot to look forward to!!!

It's not exactly next door, but a BEAUTIFUL barn and grounds is Laudholm Farm in Wells, Maine. My son and his bride were married there in July 2013. It rents out by the weekend, so we had a catered lobster bake in the barn as the rehearsal dinner on Friday night, and then the wedding on Saturday. Ceremony was outside and we had a large white tent put up right next to the barn for dinner, and then the open bar and dancing were all in the barn which was strung with lots of tiny white lights. Gorgeous!

There is a barn type of wedding venue in Gilford owned by a couple named Baron. They are at the end of a road that starts on the South side of Route 11A, right next to a home that has a locksmith as a ho9me occupation. I do not know how to contact them but I do know that they have had fairly elaborate weddings there.

We have also recently attended a wonderful wedding at Gunstock Rec Area, with the ceremony at the top of the ski lift (everyone including the wedding party went up by ski lift), with a small reception up there and a full dinner and dance in the Gunstock lodge at ground level. All was catered by Gunstock and it was fabulous.

Default Baron's Farm

I know the owner. I do know his family has weddings there. I'm not sure if he rents to the public. PM me if interested.

Rambling Vewe Farm on Morrill Street in Gilford has spectacular view of the Belknaps. Although the sheep barn is not available for weddings, you can set up a tent.

I had my wedding at the old Gunstock Lodge. It was a fall wedding at the height of the foliage season. It was spectacular! CMan did a fantastic job with the catering. What happened at the pond out back stays at the pond!

There is a gazebo at the Gunstock Inn available for weddings. Fantastic view of The Broads. The reception hall is right next to it in case of bad weather.

Another great place for a wedding. Oliver's Lodge on Meredith Neck. It may not be a barn but the main house with the field stone fireplace is a great setting!

Give the Olde Orchard Inn in Moultonborough a call. They are a B & B and have a very nice barn.

Thank you. That is a nice suggestion. We have friends that knew the previous owners. It is a great venue. However, I thought they weren't in the B&B business any longer. I may be mistaken.
