Default Ski Rentals

Hi All,
I did a search, and looking in the past year did not want to go further back than that, for ski rental prices in the forum.
I am spending a weekend up in the North Conway/Jackson area at the begining of Feb 2008 and I am taking some friends that need rentals. We wanted to rent from a shop instead of the mountain so we would not waste time sitting in the rental shop and getting ready. I called Joe Jones they were $25 for the first day and $20 for each additional day, mounting to $65 for the weekend (Friday through Sunday). SKi MArket had a deal but I had to Drive to Bosont to rent at $30 for a weekend package but have to pick up after 5 on Friday and drop off on Monday.

Any other Ski rental places in the North Conway/Jackson area? I cannot think of any other place than Joe Jones. Thank you very much, Also if you know how much it costs it would be great to, otherwise I can just call them

Thank you again Forum Fanatics (like myself)

Default Great shop across from eastern slope inn.

I was just up there last weekend. There's a great shop right in town called the "Great american ski company"? or something like that. The number on my reciept is 603-356-6040. I bought a used pair of boots for my son for $10. The same amount I think I spent on a hot dog at the mountain for lunch! But check this place out they were great.

Default Joe Jones

The best place for ski rentals. If you decide to buy, they will discount the skis with what you paid for the rentals. What I like about this ski shop is that I can get a different ski for the next day, the night before. And they tune them every time you rent them!

$20-25 is very reasonable and Joe Jones has been doing it for quite a few years now.

Default Near wolfeboro

Is anyone aware of a quality off-mountain rental shop in the wolfeboro (or gilford) area?

We're heading to Gunstock over the holidays and I'd like to rent a quality pair of shaped skiis.

Or does anyone have any experience with Mountainside Outfitters Demo Center right at Gunstock?

Thanks!

Thumbs up Gunstock

We used the folks at the Gunstock demo center last year for my wife. They could not have been any nicer or accomodating. They had her try 4 different skis until she found what she was looking for, they were very patient with a fussy skier. They made arrangements for her to try a brand new ski the day after we were there for no extra charge, took a new pair of skis from stock and set them up for her to try. These turned out to be the one's she bought. Seems that womens specific skis make a big difference for women. After all was said and done the pricing on the equipment was as good as i could find anywhere else. I would highly recommend them.

Default Alert/Update

I was confirming with the hotel where we are staying this weekend (do nto be worried, I will be home for the "big game") and was askign if they offered lif ttickets to their guest and yes they did and then they went on to tell me about this place called "Heaven's Ski Shop" in Glenn, right over the Bridge on 302 after the Red Parka Pub.

They are a third of the Price of the mountains on purpose. I was told the same quality of rentals that you would get at the mountains as well. At $12 a day you get the whole set up: skis, boots, and poles.

Anyone heard of this place? and had experiences?
I am going to use them this Saturday, I can report back on them, I called them up to reserve and they told me because of Superbowl weekend will nto be busy but normally you would have to reserve. The Gentleman who I talked too was extremly nice.

Default Update

Used Heaven's Ski Shop in Glen,
Great set of guys have been there for about 14 years they said,
rentals were in very good condition, and they were really quick about everything
$8/day for juniors $12/day for adults, they rent performance skis as well but I did not ask how much. They also carry allt he other ski supplies you can think of hats, gloves, helmets, goggles, hand and toe warmers, and other stuff. Great little shop I will use them again and again seeing i will only get to ski once or twice a year

Apline boots and Rosingnol (misspelled I know) skis
Only issue were poles are beat up, but to me that was a none issue because they served the purpose
