Think the Lowe's in Gilford has some snowblower tire chains.

Says ...... here's a great suggestion ..... maybe you's could use them for 2-months and 29-days, and then return them? Lowe's has easy returns! .....and you got the entire winter to think up an "honest" reason to be taking them back......capice!

My snowblower is a Lowe's 24" Troy-Bilt, $599 on September sale for $499.....which at about 150-lbs, seems to be a small machine that is still big enough to do the driveway plow build-up......and instead of going with chains.....I just pumped up the tires to 60-lbs air pressure.....and it works pretty good for about 4 years now.

Default .....too much money!

The Lowe's in Gilford has snow-blower tire chains, made by MTD, that cost about $75.98 for two chains ....... which seems very expensive. Could be a tire store like the Tire Warehouse could install studs into the old tires for about $10/each.

I used to have an 8-hp Toro snow-blower with studded tires and it did a real good job of scratching up the wood deck, and scratching the masonry walkways in my mega-million dollar, waterfront mcmansion... but it did get better traction going up the hill through icy conditions.

And, as of Sunday, Jan 17, the Gilford Lowe's has about 20 different Troy-Bilt snowblowers in stock selling now for 10% off. That's a good deal for this time in the winter, now.

Surprised you didn't think of this yourself, FLL. Buy it today, and return it on April 1st. Well inside the 90 day return, and you will have that beast, and colorful, of a machine to do all your work for the rest of the season.

What were you thinking, Les???????

Default Snow insurance

After last years snow I decided it was time to upgrade to a bigger snowblower. I bought a 27" Husqvarna from a tractor dealer and used it once so far. Expensive no-snow insurance at $1600. And chains were $23 from amazon.
