Default Espresso (cappuccinos, lattes, etc.)?

Just came back from a few weeks in the United Kingdom (Glasgow, Scotland) and got used to ordering espresso drinks - which is pretty much the only option over there (they rarely sell "filter" coffee, as they call it). Other than Wayfarer in Laconia, does anyone have any recommendations for places in the Lakes Region that make good espresso drinks?

Default Seven Suns

In Wolfeboro. I usually toss back a couple double espressos right after we dock the boat.

The coffee shop in Center Sandwich used to be pretty good.

Best deal is to get a Moka Express Bialetti stovetop from Amazon, Cafe Bustelo coffee from Hannifords and you're good to go. If you want a milk drink, foam a little evaporated milk and it's ready.

Maybe not as good as a $3,000 Espresso machine but really cheap, easy and good.

If you PM me you can come over and I'll show you how.

For about 20-dollars, more or less, the Black & Decker Brew 'n Go makes a whole lot of gurgles, sputters, coughs, and steam ...... sort of similar to an old steam locomotive engine ..... as it brews out one cup of coffee at a time.

For about $4.50, you can get a 10-oz tin of Cafe Bustelo expresso ground coffee and either use it full strength, or mix it 50-50, 1/2-teaspoon and 1/2-teaspoon with a less powerfull brand like Maxwell House or Great Value and doctor up a mixed brew.

The B & D Brew 'n Go makes it easy to do, is entertaining to use, lasts for years, and is way cheap to buy compared to a Keurig.

Hecho en China!

Thumbs up In my humble opinion it is the Cup and Crumb - hands down!

I live in Ohio, but when I visit my grandkids, I have my list of favorite/"must do" stops. Daily on this list is the Cup and Crumb, located on the corner of Old Rte. 109 and Rte. 109. Like was posted earlier b a senior member, THEY HAVE IT ALL - espresso, cappuccino, latte's, etc.! They even serve delicious coffee from freshly ground coffee beans. If you bike or walk in, a discount is given at the register. BUT!!! In addition to the delicious beverages, the baked items are made from scratch daily. I am looking forward to my visit during Thanksgivng!

In Meredith there's Hakuna Cafe on Main Street...pretty good espresso but pricey.

I spent a lot of time in Scotland, mostly at John Brown & Company in Glasgow and I dislike the small cups of espresso they served in that area. Tea is the preferred drink in the UK and you will find it hard to get a good cup of filtered coffee.

A new restaurant has opened in that location. The name is 48 Main St. and it features espresso, coffee and crapes. I haven't tried it yet but I'm looking forward to it.
