Full Honey Moon, Friday The 13th and Bike Week
Add some decent weather and we should have an interesting weekend and week ahead. I hope the weather cooperates and the area makes a ton of money this week.
My bike is ready to go. I'm hosting several parties on the compound throughout the rally. Should be a great start to the summer. |

Unfortunately good weather and bike week don't usually go together. But, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

New Avitar
PBFF,
I like the new Avitar. How many "purrs per kibble" do you get? |

Stop in, all are welcome
It's open house by boat bike or drone for the whole week. My place will be home base to a group of friends for many of the days. There's going to be a lot of, "let's head back to the house and park the bikes and eat/drink" stuff so I don't have a set time for anyone to attend. I will have a beach party, most likely, Monday afternoon after a scheduled ride. Most of the week's activities depend on the weather and my level of consciousness.

A group of firefighters just rolled in across the street where they rent a house every year. I believe they ride with Fire and Iron MC. The Weirs is filled with vendors and looks ready to go.

Attendance?
Attendance seems to be really low this year. Vacancies on Paugus Bay???? What???? So much so, that I asked a lot attendant and a police officer about it. Both agreed that it has been a disappointing turnout so far. I have to wonder if the past traffic jams have permanently turned off a lot of people? As a spectator, I am not disappointed. I loved being able to cruise right into Weirs, and walk around, not feeling like a sheep in a herd...but I hate to see businesses not doing as well as a result. I was at the Weirs over the past weekend, and Tues-Wed. I'm curious to hear how the rest of the week goes. Hopefully, better!

Parking Rate
SteveA,
There are still some lower parking rates. For example the Weirs Community Center was $5 for bikes and $10 for cars. Just have to look. Hope this helps, Bill |

Not sure what you are seeing but I've seen the Weirs jam packed from end to end 9:00 on every day. The crowds are constant from start to finish. I believe when all is said and done the attendance will be pretty high. They closed Laconia Harley to bikes several times. Everywhere we have gone has been packed with bikes. I'm exhausted.

Father's Day we never made it to the Weirs because of traffic, we turned around and went to Harts and Meredith Harley. Wednesday afternoon we made it and it was packed. We paid $10 at the lot just above the old water slide location. Maybe a midweek price? The vender tents really spruced up the street, it looked like a lot of fresh paint on some buildings, I hope it continues to look nice after the crowds are gone.
We saw some great looking bikes! |

I seem to remember that Father's Day was always the last day of bike week. Why the change this year? Or is my memory incorrect?

Bike Week
Rode the bikes over to Weirs Thursday and Friday evenings (my first Bike Week !!) Parking ranged from Free - $5 for bikes to $10 - $20 for cars depending on the site. We parked down on the lake front for free (bikes only). Wall to wall bikes - it was quite the scene. License plates from up and down the East Coast, Canada and out to Colorado.
I understand that everything is a lot calmer then back in the day (Mr. Cindido used to come up yearly into the 80s) but I thought it was a great event. Loved the crowds lining the streets as we rode through Meredith. Local restaurants seemed to be doing very well. The vendors were extremely nice and we enjoyed chatting with the other bikers as they stopped to admire our bikes and vice versa. Also loved the photographers out on Mt. Major Hwy and then seeing fabulous photos on line available for purchase. The weather has been gorgeous - although a little too windy for me personally but the temps have been perfect. Off to the Loudon Classic today. Ride safe everyone ! |

Your memory is correct, this the 1st year of the one week shift. I don't know the official reason but if it was looking for more sun and less rain it worked out just fine.
