AT&T/Direct TV...
Last year I wanted an alternative to Metrocast in NH. A number of people posted their happiness with Direct TV, so I called them. The woman I spoke to suggested replacing Metrocast in NH, and at the same time, bundling my place in San Francisco. Plus get rid of Verizon and go with AT&T cell for an additional $49/month as part of a two home bundled package. The cost was much less than my current service providers.
Well, it was the end of the 2017 season. Direct TV suggested waiting until the spring for NH and install San Fran immediately. So I cancelled Metrocast in NH. Cancelled Comcast/Xfinity in SF and cancelled Verizon for my cell and switched cell to AT&T. Got my first bill for AT&T cell...Not the $49 I was told (never got a contract on anything) it was $79. Since there was no penalty to go back to Verizon, I did, for $65/month, and better service. I was really not happy with Direct TV in SF. I get a lot of internet disconnects, TV periodically repeats itself for a couple of seconds, freezes, then goes back to normal. Can't use Firefox as a browser. If I cancel, it's a penalty of $20/months remaining on a 2 year contract. So now that I'm getting ready to head to NH, I needed to contact Direct TV/AT&T and schedule the spring install at the Lake... "Oh, we're sorry but we don't offer service in your area"...Really!

Went to Dish when my two year agreement was up with Direct. Same channels half cost for two years! Using metrocast for internet the past four years.

I have Metrocast internet only at $60 per month. Since it's only a second home I can stream enough shows to watch for the limited amount of time I'm up there with my fire stick and Netflix. We don't watch much TV in the summer anyway. If I was living there year round I would add Dish for TV.

And since I have two places, I use the same streaming service at both places. |
