Default ieSpell Problem

New laptop, and I can't seem to get ieSpell to work with winni.com. I have the latest version of ieSpell downloaded and installed.

I see it in the right click menu, but I get the following message when I try to use it:

Name: ispell message.JPG
Views: 423
Size: 16.7 KB

IE 9 (64bit)

If I try spell check from the ABC inside the compose new message I get this, directing me back to d/l the ieSpell program.

Name: message.JPG
Views: 471
Size: 23.3 KB

I'm sure I'm missing something "stupid" on my part, but any help appreciated.

I did a little research and it seems iespell has some issues with ie9 and 64bit. May have started with the ie version released in december ( non beta).

Some have gotten it working with a reinstall and a cclean registry ( I would not use cclean unless you are comfortable with these type of programs)

An alternative that might work well is speckie.com and is realtime.

Hope that helps,

Jeff

Default Thank You Welch Islandman

The Speckie spell check is great! Loaded in seconds and the real time works perfect. I intentionally misspelled a bunch of words in this reply and it caught everyone of them.

Very cool little tool and free. Now all I need to find is an app that makes my posts make sense!

PS, lot's of Names here on site will come up as misspelled, it has the function to "Add to Dictionary" which is also very useful. (Like the shorthand Thx I often use.)

Once activated it works with just about any program you are typing into.
