The Wicked Loon (Wolfeboro)
My wife enjoyed Localtopia so much for lunch yesterday, that we returned for dinner to sister restaurant The Wicked Loon--it was great! Closest comparison on food is probably the Woodshed, but this is less formal, more friendly. Cocktails were great--I had the excellent "Live Free or Die" old fashion, she chose from the very good list of wines by the glass. We split a house salad and each had the scallops--both were a step above normal lake fare. The room is bright, well decorated, and has a large U-shaped bar and great view. The place was full, amazing for the first Monday in June; so make reservations. This is the best addition to lake dining in years--it's one of our faves after only one visit. YAY!!!

The Wicked Loon
My wife and I have been 3 times. 1 of those times with another couple.
We sat at the bar. Everything we've had has been fantastic.

Wicked Loon
I've been twice...once we were seated at a table for two in the back...and it was great. The view out the back is outstanding...even though the parking lot is what you see immediately...the lake is behind it, so it balances it out and it works.
However, WL is now seating the people in Localtopia, once the Loon fills up. Nope, that's not what I signed up for. It happened to me on my second visit, and I wasn't pleased. It's a completely different vibe. It's a view of an alley. Having said that, I like the place and the menu. |
