Black marker missing near Eagle Island
I was out on the lake yesterday and it looks like there is a missing black marker between the north side of Eagle and the red marker on the south side of Pitchwood island.

Black marker missing near Eagle Island
This is a hazardous time of the season to be boating due to the probability of missing markers caused by ice damage and the very real problem of miscellaneous debris washed off the shore and floating at or just below surface level. If anyone notices any potential problems to boating safety, please notify the Marine Patrol and post it to this Forum. Thanks.

A friend told me today that a triple cluster of pilings washed up on his beach.
That would be a big ouch if you hit that! Be careful out there!. Another problem is if something like that washes up on your waterfront, who pays to remove and dispose of it. You would have to cut the PT pilings into a lot of short sections unless you had machinery to remove it. And then there is the cost of disposal, landfills don't love that stuff. It becomes an expensive problem to resolve. |

Hazardous debris
I believe the sate (MP) will remove hazardous stuff that drifts to your shore. Please secure it until they can get there. It's a busy time
of year when staffing is not at full level. |
