Default Egon Zimmerman

With a heavy heart, I announce that Egon pass away this week at home in Austria. He and Penny Pitou was instrumental in putting the Belknap Area aka Gunstock on the international skiing scene.
He was my first ski coach in the 60's. Egon and Penny were self taught skiers and taught a unique style of skiing.
The Penny and Egon ski school had famous clienteles from around the world.
Egon was an excellent tennis player and often taught tennis to the local school kids.
Stephan Hausberger, the owner of Zimmerman Sport Chalet in Nashua, NH will be setting up a corner in his store as a tribute to his uncle. Egon's World Cup medals, Olympic medals, his skis and other memorabilia will be displayed. Please take a moment to stop by and pay respect for a Gunstock legend.
May he rest in peace from MS and continue skiing and teaching in heaven.

So sad to hear that. Some where I have a picture of his convertible in the parking lot of Killington on a great ski day in May. I believe it was a Porsche.
