Thumbs up Pop's

My family and I really like it. We've had the fried clams, clam strips, chicken tenders, and haddock. The onion rings are quite tasty too. Been there on several occasions and it has been consistently good.

It is tourist priced but the food is good. Food prep area looks clean enough from what you can see through the service windows.

Thumbs up

I was a bit timid about trying it the first time but the onion rings were great. No hesitation about eating there now.

jrc,
How do their prices compare to the Tamarack? I don't know if the price of seafood went through the roof or just the Tamarack prices did. Two of us spent $31 for lunch. That might be the going rate but we thought it pricey for take-out window service food with outdoor seating.

Default Pop's prices

I haven't been to Tamarak in a year, mainly because they don't have a dock nearby. Two week's ago I made my first trip to Pop's this season. I'm guessing I got clam strip plate for $9-10 dollars. Real clams or haddock were closer to $14. You could break $30 for two people with tax and Coke.

Don't make fun, it's not that I'm cheap, sometimes I want clam strips. OK, maybe I'm cheap.

I went to Sawyer's once this year. Similiar pricing but didn't enjoy the meal as much.

We have had great luck splitting side orders or appetizers. They have been very generous and we all leave full. All four of us eat for about $30-$35 this way.

Side orders work great if you have a few people. If everyone orders plates you can end up with a lot of french fries. Pops sells side orders of all the seafood products plus fries and o-rings. I don't know if you can get cole slaw sides.
