What's with all the low aircraft?

The past few days I have seen some unusual activity in the sky. There has been low flying straight-wing small jets and large prop planes flying low over the Center Harbor area. They have been flying two at a time.
One of the jets made a sharp u-turn, banking almost 90º.
They look like training flights.
Anybody have the scoop?
