Default historical information needed- graffiti

Here's an interesting question the family has been wondering-

When did the graffiti pictured first appear under the bridge in the Weirs Channel?

Yes, I know that most people feel graffiti has no place on our beautiful lake, but how this piece has lasted all these years is fascinating. Many people are probably annoyed every time they see it. I've been enjoying the lake since maybe 1952, and it seems that graffiti under the bridge has been there almost as long as that.

Anyone know the history? Anyone know the "artist"?
