Default Ospree

Anyone know anything about the Ospree flying around the lake today doing landings at the airport? Never seen one in real life, I must say it makes a very different sound than any other aircraft. What a site to see it in the different configurations!

I googled "Laconia Airport, August 6, 2022, Osprey" ...... and found this ..... https://www.radarbox.com/data/aircraft/v22 ..... that lists Flight CRSBO11 .... V22 (168691) Departed 12:48 EDT ...... a V22 Bell Helicopter V-22 Osprey

Someone who knows their way on monitoring airport info is what's needed here?

Here's something on ..... V-22 (168691) ...... https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/10308575 ...... which says 168691 belongs to the U.S. Marine Corps. Radarbox.com shows on Saturday, Aug 6, Marine Corps Osprey 168691 had landed and took off from airports in Augusta, Bangor, Portland and Oxford, Maine.

On Sunday morning, Aug 7, 2022 (before 8-am) it was shown flying Fryeburg, Lovell, Sweden, Harrison, and Bridgton, Maine .... www.radarbox.com/data/flights/CRSBO31/1827467467 ..... pretty danged early in the morning for a summer Sunday! ..... do they serve breakfast and is drinking coffee allowed onboard, while flying?

Seven years ago ...... New River, North Carolina area..... watch a Marine Corps Osprey ride .... www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJxrcniKaE8 .... 4:50 .... from Sept 8, 2015

Maybe it is part of a Marine Corps flying demonstration across the great State of Maine and had something to do with August 6, 1945 ..... and www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_A8LPtuX5c

Default Gilford

Flew over Patrick's after 1pm.

Quite a sight blades straight up...looked like a huge drone.

It is curious to have a military craft in and out of the lakes region.

Thumbs up What a Treat!

It was quite a treat to see! You’re right, it sounds much different than other aircraft.

It was the sound that made me look up the 1st time, 8-10,000 feet up?
Course, a line of Laconia to Plymouth.

2nd one was more interesting, line of Laconia to Melvin Village much lower this time, but the storm system that was stalled other side of Shaw, Bean Mts. for hours, they did a 90 and flew between the lake and the Mts.

1st time also seeing one also.

The Osprey has been around a lot lately. There is a video on facebook of the landing at the Laconia airport over the weekend. Its not uncommon that the military does practice/exercises in the area.
