Safe Ice
Hi, coming up for the weekend and was wondering if anyone knows if the ice is still good in meredith area for skating and riding of machines on ice??

I believe a vehicle went thru at the launch so there is no way on there. Or off.

If it were me, I'd stay off the ice with a snowmobile. As far as skating, you'd be skating on soft ice in slush/water. So it goes for the Winter of 2009-2010.

Me thinks I would watch from the shore,it seems to be melting pretty quickly for motorized modes of transit. IMHO

Look at the ice loss off Black Cat Island taken by the Winnipesaukee Weather Cam. Almost all open water from the rocks to the shore. Won't be too long before it is open.

I hate to say it but unless we get some really cold weather really quick I think ice activities on Winni for this year are pretty much done....... still a while for ice out but I think things are too unstable.....
