You need to have a credit card to qualify as a renter, and www.squamboats.com/rentals.htm will rent you a 15' Whaler with a 60-hp for $250/day on Squam Lake.

For about $25, there's stand up paddle board and kayak rental places in Alton, Wolfeboro, Center Harbor, Meredith, Gilford, Belmont, Holderness and Hebron … but not in Laconia.
