Default Patrick's Pub - Gluten Free

Don't know how many of you out there in cyberspace are Gluten Intolerant (I am) but check out Patrick's Pub new Gluten Free Menu. It is pretty good. They also have Gluten Free Beer. Thanks Allan.

You "normal" people don't know how much fun it is to be able to sit at a bar and have a pizza and beer.

Default Excellent to learn this

I'm happy to learn that Patrick's recognizes the need for this alternative. My mom travels with a package of noodles in her purse. It's a great strategy because often dinner plans are made around the needs of those with gluten concerns. It would be helpful if their menu were to mention how they altered the recipe to work without gluten. Often the absence of gluten dilutes the food value. Is Patrick's making their gluten free items in house or buying them pre-made? If tapioca flour is the alternative the food value declines a great deal.

There is another restaurant in the region soon to open with an emphasis on gluten free alternatives. Imagine a gluten free chocolate pasta with a raspberry melba drizzle. This dish is a dream now but work is being done to create it. Next will be the gluten free Girl Scout Cookie

Default kevin's cafe offers gluten free

Kevin's Cafe in moultonboro offers gluten free items on his menu. If you let chef Kevin Know when you come in or make a reservation he can do his famous Shrimp Scampi with Gluten free pasta. Many gluten free patrons enjoy this dish. Also the New England Clam chowder can be done gluten free if you reguest it.

Default Patrick's

Patrick's Gluten free menu is great! I discovered it last December, and tried it on my next visit, actually the entire table did. It was great, and we were all pleased. You just have to request the menu from the server, and they're happy to oblige. In fact, the menu was created because one or two people in their own kitchen are gluten intolerant!

It's not enough for these rest. to offer gluten free items, the food must be prepared without contamination with gluten, meaning separate prep areas, separate cooking areas, etc.

For example, it is not good enough to offer gluten free toast, if that toast is made in the same appliance used for "regular" toast.

It is a big investment for these places and we appreciate it.

This is a great point! Don't let marketing ploys misinform you {No implications made).

Its not in the lakes region but there is a great gluten free bakery in the nearby Berkshires (My home turf). According to my mother the owner is a very helpful person.
