Default Army or Coast Guard helicopters around Six Mile Island

Today there were several helicopters hovering around and dropping cages into the water during HIGH winds. Either doing a rescue operation for practice or real life. In over 35 years ... never seen this occur. Anyone hear of anything happening? Hoping it was just practice ....

In the past the army national guard has run practice drills on the lake. I’m betting this was a drill. You could get multiple MP boats to 6 mile in the time it would take to get a chopper to lake from Sandwich Ma (nearest active CG air station I believe) or Concord NG to perform an actual rescue.
