Drought / too early end to the season
Was tempted to boat this weekend, but as a seasoned recipient of underwater elements, both at Graveyard and around Cow I decided to end the season today with hull and drive intact in my driveway.
There was a summer, it was late in August (1996)? while my uncle's property in West Alton was still available to vacation at, my Mastercraft ski boat would only fit half-way into the boat house. The bow interior of the boathouse was essentially beach! In all my years at Winni I don't think I had ever seen the lake that low. At my age I relish all of the assets I have been able to retain. The Donzi, intact is one of them so I'm all done for the season, and I am wicked jealous of those of you full time Winni mariners who are still venturing out for a cruise. Be safe. |
