Moultonborough street lights...
Ok who is the bone head that turned off the street light at the 25 and 109 intersection? I can't believe they would turn off an intersection light like that that one. Well maybe it is just burnt out or something, but man that light is needed. Went through there tonight and you an hardly see the intersection. If I didn't know it was there I would have flown right by it....

I know that the town of Moultonborough is purposley turning off some of the street lights to save money. I don't recall if that particular one was on the list I saw or not.
I came off of Moultonborough Neck road this evening and thought it quite ironic that the town is willing to turn off street lights to save money but they have all the street lights down on playground drive burning away for no apparant reason There not bright enough for them to really let anybody do anything and who is going to be playing tennis or swinging on the swing set at 30+ degrees in the dark anyway. |

playground lights
The playground lights are on to assist the PD in harassing teenagers who might try to park and hang out there at night - it's easier to search a kid's car with the lights on. I know this because they once busted my teenager there: possession with intent to ingest leftover lemon chicken from Lee Wah

Moultonboro-no lights
**** is all I have to say (if Don will let me). I drove home last night in the rain and it was a bloody nightmare. I left a message for the road agent, but doubt they will get back to me. I Hear there will be a selectman's meeting where folks can go and state which lights should be on/off, but really. Route 25/Route 109 intersection is black as night, I almost missed it. AND I LIVE HERE.

From that link just above, it says that a property owner can adopt a nearby street light for approximately $150/year. Wonder if that can be deducted off your federal income tax bill like a charitable donation?
