Who is going to be the first one to install one of these on your pontoon boat.

You would have to be really bad handling your boat to make this worthwhile. But, you do see a lot of people on the lake whose stress factor goes way up every time they have to dock their boat.
A couple of years ago I saw someone docking in Alton in a 240 Searay with a bow thruster. It took 4 very bad tries and his wife ended up lunging for a dock post to pull the boat in. Who puts a bow thruster in a 240 Searay? I don't know. Have a friend teach you? Hire a Captain to give you boating lessons? Find a dock in a quiet area to practice your docking skills mid-week? |

It takes some getting used to and I am sure there are many people who are much better with the joystick than I am. When docking, it is hard to not just use what you are used to, the steering and engine controls. I'll keep practicing! |

I think every boat should have a Mercury Marine joystick… because I sell the joysticks to Mercury’s controls supplier.
