Default Great Meredith Rotary Fishing Derby

Hard to be thinking about ice... however, the dates for the 2010 Derby have been set for January 30-31, 2010. Derby tickets can be purchased on line starting October 1, 2009 at the Rotary web site (www.meredithrotary.org). Additionally, you can purchase Derby teeshirts and hats, if you'd like, directly from the website. They will also be available at the Derby trailer during Derby weekend. Don't forget: start Derby weekend with TIP UP TALK, the free panel discussion held at Meredith Community Center on Friday, January 29. More details are available on the Rotary website. The Derby Discounts program for this year has already begun. There are more than 40 merchants participating who will provide discounts on meals, lodging, merchandise when presented with a valid Derby Ticket. A listing of all participating merchants and the discounts they will give to Derby ticket holders can be viewed by clicking www.meredithrotary.org and then clicking Fishing Derby/Derby Discounts. More than $61,000 in prizes will be given away during the 2010 Derby. See you there!!

Thanks for the heads up on the ticket sales.

Good luck to all the participants - looks like some great prizes!

Many thanks to the Meredith Rotary for all that they do.

Default My favorite...

... part of the Great Meredith Rotary Fishing Derby is seeing all the different "Bob Houses". It's worth walking around all the bays just to check them out. I love the one with the hot tub. That guy really knows how to fish!

Default Latest Fishing Derby News

Hi Everyone: Hard to believe, but the date for the Great Meredith Rotary Ice Fishing Derby is almost here. This is just a short update on latest news:
The "Tip Up Talk" free ice fishing clinic on Friday night at the Meredith Community Center begins at 6:30pm. The speakers this year will include Don Miller from NH Fish&Game, and Travis Williams and Adriaen LaVoie from Cool Water Charters. Refreshments will be served and it's FREE!!!! The Derby Trailer is in place and will be setup in time to begin ticket/license sales beginning Friday, January 29 at the Derby Trailer from 8am to 11pm, and then Saturday January 30 from 5am to 12pm. You can also purchase Derby teeshirts and hats at the trailer. If you prefer, you can purchase Derby tickets online by visiting the website (www.meredithrotary.org) ... click on the Fishing Derby button, then click the On Line Ticket button to buy your ticket on line. Any online tickets purchased after January 15 will be held for pickup at the Derby Trailer, as there is insufficient time to process and mail the ticket prior to the opening of the Derby. Good luck to everyone!!

My friend just called to tell me the debry had been cancelled. I checked the Rotary website and it's flashing "the derby has NOT been cancelled!!". Rumors going around or something? He said it was something about the Salmon population being low and F&G cancelling it.

What's up with that?

(Ok...I just checked General section and it's the SPRING derby. Phewww!!! Got worried for a minute.)

The Rotary Derby is on, so do not worry.

The Winni Derby in the spring has been cancelled due to concerns for overfishing of Salmon. There has been some confusion about this because some people call the Rotary Derby the Winni Derby.

Good Luck!

Default Conspracy?

Kind of a coincidence, that the speed limit and rafting bill is coming up. The timing of the cancelling of the spring fishing derby before the winter derby. You would think a few folks have something against the fishermen as well as boaters because the NH Bass federation is against the above bills.
