Default Salmon fishing

I'm coming up in mid may for some Salmon fishing. I used to do this for many
years and had great success. In 2010 we did poorly. I'm wondering if it's
come back at all? Staying near the weirs channel I understand christmas
island is closed. Any suggestions where we should launch the boat.
thanks

Best place is into the water

I don't really know the area so really can't help you but welcome to the Site.

Some one will come along and give you the help you really need but I couldn't resist the jab and welcome to the site.

I saw some work going on at the Christmas Island the other day. I will walk over next time I see them working and ask about the launch. The launches are still going to be there, it's just a matter of whether there will be someone I can pay to use them.
Our back up plan to launch is Silver Sands.

I don't launch around Weirs so I can't give you much advice for that area. I usually use West Alton Marina or Sheps...both are pretty good hauls from Weirs. Merideth is a pretty good bet.

As for the fishing...Fish and Game made some changes at the hatchery that are making positive impact. By releasing bigger fish, the survival rates of these new releases is much better and that was 2 years ago so a strong 2 year class is expected and being seen in netting results.

Also, NH fishermen have begun observing and following the NH Salmon Anglers Pledge to police ourselves and build a better fishery. The guidelines are here: http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fish...rs_pledge.html ....please consider them when fishing for this great species.
