3 uninjured on Kanasatka.
MOULTONBOROUGH, N.H. -- Two children jumped out of a boat on Lake Kanasatka on Saturday after the operator's seat broke loose, throwing the driver from the boat.
According to Marine Patrol, the boat had been towing a water skier on the Moultonborough lake, but the water skier was back on board when the seat malfunctioned. After the driver went overboard, two girls in the boat jumped into the water. Marine Patrol officials said the three were able to swim safely to shore and were uninjured. Marine Patrol said that without an operator, the boat started circling at a high rate of speed. Moultonborough Fire & Rescue and Marine Patrol were able to throw a rope in the boat's path, causing the engine to stall. The boat was then towed to shore. |

Apparently the driver was not wearing or the boat was not equipped with a kill switch lanyard..... thankfully nobody was seriously injured!

Five Victims?
So far, this makes two news-stories from tiny Lake Kanasatka this season: at this rate, they'll soon be "tied" in incidents with the much-bigger Lake Winnipesaukee.

I was really impressed that they were able think about setting a rope (line) in the boats path. I assume the rope was picked up by the prop caused the engine to stall. Cudo's for someone to have the knowledge, presense of mind, and ability to execute the rope trick.

Say what? Could you further explain this statement. I know I'm going to regret asking this.
