Default Mt Morgan and Mt Percival

Just wanted to recommend a great hike for those of you who haven't done this one. I took the extended family including nephews and nieces between 8 and 16 up Mt Morgan (just NW of Squam w/ parking lot on 113 between Holderness and Sandwich). It is a 5.5 mile hike when you do the round trip up Morgan over to Mt Percival and then down Percival. 1450 feet of vertical climb which is about 300 feet more than Mt Major if I remember correctly, so not too difficult even for the younger ones. The views are amazing looking south across Squam and Winnipesaukee. The bonus features are the ladders near the top of Morgan and the rock formations/ small caves that you go through near the top of both mountains. The whole family loved it. It was about a 3.5 hour round trip for us including stops at the top of both mountains and around the caves. Enjoy.

Default Very Nice Hike

Our neighborhood hiking group hiked up Percival and Morgan last September and we agree that it is worth doing.

If anyone's interested, our GPS track and some photos taken on the hike can be seen here: http://www.pbase.com/echo_shores/morgan_percival

DRH,
I love the GPS overlay on the topo map. What a great concept. Great web site you folks have.
