Mt Major Hike
Is anyone familiar with the Mt Major trail system in Gilford?
Interested in making the 'hike' with the 'Fam' ! - How long will the hike take to reach the top ? - Difficulty rating? Thanks, BD |

Actually the parking and trails are in Alton. The main trail up is a mixture of easy and moderate difficulty and may take a family group about 50+ min one way.
The longer brook trail in mostly easy and maybe 1 hour+ one way. In either case good hiking footwear is advised. Both Alton and Gilford library's have maps. Oh, we are off in Utah, Northern Arizona and Colorado exploring National Parks. Have fun! |

BigDog,
Moderate hike. 1+ hr to summit. Not super hard, but not a poodle hike either. How old are the kids? May be to much for under 8yr olds, but that of course depends on the kids. Good luck. |
